When it comes to commercial food packaging, there are two main types of packaging processes that are the most commonly used and the most basic, namely filling and packing. The filling method is suitable for almost all materials and all types of packaging containers. Particularly for liquids, powders and free-flowing particles with good flowability, they are mainly dependent on their own gravity, and they must be supplemented with a certain mechanical force to complete the packaging process. For semi-liquids with high viscosity or large individual parts and assemblies, appropriate mandatory measures such as extrusion, ejection and pick-up and handling must be taken. As for the wrapping method, it is different, it is mainly suitable for a single piece or assembly with the correct shape, sufficient rigidity, requires relatively tight packaging, and mainly uses flexible plastics and their composite materials (some additional lightweight trays, liners), with using mechanical force for winding.
Over the past ten years, the international packaging industry has placed great importance on improving the overall capabilities and cross-functional integration of packaging equipment and the entire packaging system to provide timely and flexible production means for a variety of products that are changing every day. At the same time, based on the real needs for intelligent packaging simplification and advantageous packaging process methods, continuous research has greatly accelerated the pace of proprietary technological innovation. In particular, it echoes the synchronous development of modern automatic machines and is gradually becoming clearer. In order to create a diversified, generalized, multi-functional and integrated new packaging machinery system, we must first focus on solving the big problem of combination and mechatronics, which is undoubtedly an important development direction in the future.
Mechanical packaging replaces manual packaging, which greatly improves packaging efficiency, but packaging flooding has also become a problem.
